Tour Overview
Designed for travellers starting in northern Tanzania, this four-day programme flies from Arusha to Kigoma and combines the cultural history of Ujiji with three days around Gombe’s forest and lakeshore. Chimpanzee tracking is repeated so the experience does not depend on a single walk. Kakombe Waterfalls, Jane’s Peak, Mkenge Waterfall and a Lake Tanganyika fishing experience are included when local conditions and park timing allow.

Daily Itinerary
Forest routes, wildlife locations, lake conditions and domestic-flight times can change. LuiTours keeps the stated sequence while adjusting daily timing for safety and current park instructions.
Fly from Arusha to Kigoma, Visit Ujiji and Boat to Gombe
Take the morning flight from Arusha to Kigoma. On arrival, visit the Livingstone Memorial at Ujiji before continuing to Kibirizi Port for the boat journey to Gombe. After check-in and lunch, join a ranger for an afternoon chimpanzee trek. The forest also supports red-tailed and colobus monkeys, baboons, forest birds and other wildlife, although every sighting remains natural and unguaranteed.

Chimpanzee Trekking, Kakombe Waterfalls and Jane’s Peak
Set out after an early breakfast for a full morning of chimpanzee tracking. Rangers interpret calls, feeding signs and recent movement while choosing the day’s trail. Continue to Kakombe Waterfalls and, if time and conditions are suitable, climb toward Jane’s Peak for views over the forest and Lake Tanganyika.

Forest Trek, Mkenge Waterfall and Lake Tanganyika
Return to the forest to search different valleys and observe how Gombe’s chimpanzees use the steep lakeside habitat. The day can include Mkenge Waterfall and a guided fishing or lakeshore experience on Lake Tanganyika, subject to park and weather conditions. Return to camp for the final night in Gombe.

Boat to Kigoma and Fly to Arusha or Dar es Salaam
Enjoy breakfast and a final quiet period by the beach before boarding the scheduled boat transfer to Kigoma. Continue to the airport for the confirmed late-afternoon flight to Arusha or Dar es Salaam. The exact boat departure is coordinated around the operating flight timetable.
