Mikumi Wildlife - What Makes It Special
Southern Tanzania's Most Accessible Premier Wildlife Park
Mikumi is the fourth-largest national park in Tanzania and one of the most wildlife-rich destinations in the country, yet it receives a fraction of the visitors that the northern circuit parks attract. This means quieter game drives, more intimate wildlife encounters, and the sense of having the bush to yourself - rare luxuries in an era of increasingly crowded wildlife destinations.

Best Time to Visit
Mikumi National Park offers good to excellent game viewing year-round. The dry season (June - October) is peak season - wildlife concentrates around the Mkata River and permanent water sources, predator activity is highest, and the open floodplain produces exceptional game viewing conditions. The green season brings lush scenery and superb birding, though some roads may be temporarily affected by rainfall. Lion, elephant, hippo, and buffalo are present in large numbers every month.
